Pastor Odom believes that teaching the gospel is essential in facilitating a spiritual foundation that produces life changes. He believes that spiritual counseling is necessary for healing, which will result from a personal, intimate relationship with the Lord. He believes that most stop short by treating symptoms, failing to reach the core issues and eradicate the problem. He believes all problems are rooted in sin and all answers to our problems are rooted in the healing power of Jesus. However, making the connection between the core issues and the ministry of Jesus requires someone skilled in the word of God and called of God. As the bible tells us, the renewing of our minds is a constant process. He strongly believes that aligning people with the truth and dispelling errors will facilitate this renewal process thereby bringing about transformation into the proper relationship with Jesus Christ.
